Tazria/Metzora- Meeting place?

In Parshat Tazria, in Perek Daled פסוק ה׳, it is written: "אל אהל מועד", or "to the tent of meeting". What is so special about this meeting place? Rashi says it is the Mishkan, which had a very holy connection with Hashem. What else could be the place that they were going to meet at?

  1. We learnt in class in a previous parsha blog that the tent of meeting is a meeting place of the people not meeting eachother but meeting with hashem. In the mishkan (that's what it's called) to repent for there sins and or praise hashem

  2. Rabbi Eliezer said that the ohel moed is a place where the Jews come together to meet to praise God and become a better person. Rabbi Goldmintz taught us how to apply it to our lives because even though we don't have the mishkan any longer, we are in a similar position to them like they were back them, we are in galut, and we want to try to think of other structures as a replacement of the mishkan not being there (ex- going to shul, cheesed, davening, or whatever way you personally connect to God)

  3. Thetorah.com says that the ohel moed was so special because it was the one place HaShem meets with Bnei Yisroel and appears to them. HaShems shechina rests there among Bnei yisroel making it very special and unique from all other places.

  4. The OU explains what the ohel moed is. They say that it is the same place as the Mishkan but is called by a different name because it is referring to a different aspect/part of the "building". The Mishkan is made by a series of curtains and there are many layers to the curtains. The middle layer is the one called the oohed moed and the innermost layer is the mishkan.

  5. The Daat Hamikra explains that the ohel moed is a tent outside of the camp, that Moshe used to meet with people.
